The Dance Studio is an essential part of the Performing Arts Centre and UWC Dilijan College. The studio space will spend most of its time as an open room with a flat floor. There will be plenty of associated storage space so that chairs and music stands used by orchestras can be easily stowed away before the room is used for a dance class.

At least one wall will be mirrored for use in dance classes. There will be dance bars in the necessary locations. Panels in the walls will allow the acoustics of the room to be easily adjusted depending on whether the room is used by a full orchestra, a soloist giving a recital, a dance class or a group of actors.

The studio will be able to rapidly transform into a recital room when required. The easier it is to carry out this transformation, the more likely it is that the school will include such small performances as part of their weekly or monthly programme. Such activity should be encouraged as a vital part of the creative life of the school. The retractable unit will be able to extend into various positions according to the size of audience desired. The current layout has a maximum seated capacity of 144 people.
